Ohta was a Japanese automobile manufacturer active mainly in the pre- and post-World War II era. Founded by Hiro Ōta in the 1920s, Ohta Jidōsha became one of Japan’s more prominent small carmakers before the rise of Toyota and Nissan. The company produced compact cars, three-wheelers, and light trucks, with models such as the Ohta Model PA in the 1930s and the Ohta Model PC after the war. In the 1950s, Ohta was absorbed into Tokyu Kogyo Kurogane, and eventually became part of Nissan, ending its independent brand identity.
